Holiday Bazaar
Oakland Steiner School Holiday Bazaar 2009
Saturday November 21, 2009
10am – 4pm
Free Admission
Open to the public
The bazaar will feature many talented artisans, including pottery, jewelry, natural foods, handmade soaps, children’s toys, clothing and much more. Our artists are carefully chosen to ensure quality, beauty, and a variety of price points. Registration is closed! We have a very full bazaar – see a list of our exhibitors here.
In addition to browsing our fabulous artisan booths, we invite you and your family to take part in a children’s workshop such as silk dyeing, candle making, or decorating a centerpiece for your holiday table. Eat a wholesome lunch in the Steiner Café, featuring hot soups, homemade bread, and fresh fruit. Desserts are always amazing at our bazaar’s bake sale table. Enjoy live music performed by professionals and students alike, and join in our faculty-led circle for some folk dancing.
The theme for this year’s bazaar is “Stone Soup” which encourages community involvement through the spirit of sharing. Bring what you’ve got and put it in the pot! We have many ingredients this year, making this the best stone soup you’ve ever tasted.
What is stone soup?
Stone soup is an old folk tale about a clever stranger that brings a starving town together to make soup. Read the story of stone soup here, as one person recalled and posted on Wikipedia.
